Rodeo Run & Cook-off Fun

Well, WE DID IT! We successfully completed our 10k - that's 6.2 miles - and we beat our expected time! We have never {seriously} done a race like this and our training results made us think that we would likely finish the race in about 80 minutes {especially when we found out that we had to run up and down a large hill, aka overpass, two times during the race}. But...we did our race without stopping and finished in 72 minutes! We are pretty excited about it and are already looking to plan our next race.

Here are some pics from after the run, wonderful quality via my lovely iPhone:

We did it!

We went to the cook-off Saturday night, which was a lot of fun. No Patron tent, but satisfactory BBQ and music (and drinks) nonetheless. I tried to snag a few photos; the rodeo events actually make for some cool pics -- lots of lights and people. Anyways, here is what tempted my lens...

Our first weekend at the rodeo was a lot of fun. We have a Texas Tech Alumni event at the rodeo on Saturday, and us gals are going to the wine tasting that afternoon. It should be another great weekend at the rodeo!
