First, HAPPY HALLOWEEN! What an eventful weekend we had! I made 'creepy cakeballs' which turned out pretty cool, if I do say so myself. I made chocolate spiderwebs and red velvet cake sprinkled ones. I originally wanted to make the red velvet ones eye balls (to up the creepy factor) but quickly-drying chocolate coating did not allow that. So, ya can't go wrong with cute sprinkles!
Brandon and Tiffani were in town on Friday, and stayed with us that night, so we stuck to our tradition and went for some Mexican food and margaritas. Then, in the true spirit of Halloween, we carved pumpkins! They turned out great, and the trick-or-treaters loved them on Saturday night. Tiffani, being quite the biology major, soon-to-be pre-med student, was having fun 'gutting' the pumpkin!
Saturday, well that was a very special day. We went to pick up Tess from the breeder! She slept the whole way home, and was ready to play once we pulled in the driveway. She loved her pheasant toy (typical hunter's dog) and just hopped around the yard. I would say she is definitely a daddy's girl already!
This is our first Halloween in the new house and it was so much fun. We got a TON of trick-or-treaters, dressed up as everything from Michael Jackson, a witch, and Jason, to a baker, a surgeon, a bumble bee, and a gorilla. It was nice to be at the house and see all of the kids run up and down the streets, door to door, and giggling all the way home with their candy. Since Tess is our little Halloween puppy, we (I) definitely got her a costume to help me hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters. We called her our little pupBEE! The kids could not get enough of her, and she was such a good sport.
We hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween. Ours was definitely amazing, with good friends, fun times, and a new addition to our family.
